During Williams time he wasn't very popular, he wrote works and produced art that was "before" his time. Therefore he didn't win any awards, although there is an award today in honor of Willam called The Blake Prize. In 1951 two men, Micheal Scott, a Jesus Priest and Richard Morley, a Jewish business man created this prize in hopes that more people would create work related to religion. There are three categories in the Blake Prize, the Blake Prize itself, The John Coburn Emerging Artist Award, and The MUA Blake Prize for Human Justice. Each category wins a different amount of money and has a different level of importance. The value of the prizes is listed down below.
The Blake Prize - $25,000
John Coburn - $5,000
Human Justice - $5,000
